Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand

Never—but whoever notices that nose he wears is sure to get a swordthrust for the attention”

I have no idea why it took me so long to finish such a short play. I've always wanted to read this, particularly since I remember being completely enamoured with the 1980s movie, Roxanne,  as a child.

There are some amusing lines and I imagine it would make for an entertaining play. As someone who has been called upon to play the Cyrano role for the odd friend's love texts; I can see how it is a conceit that remains timeless.

In short, I'm happy to have read this and ticked it off the list. Sadly, I have little further comment to add.

3 out of 5 beautiful words can sway.
